Debra Dare Davis

September 10, 1957 — January 15, 2024

Debra "Debbie" Dare Davis, a beacon of love and kindness, departed from this world on January 16, 2024, at the age of 66, at Carteret Health Care, after a courageous battle with lung complications due to interstitial fibrosis.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Griffin officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior. A private interment will take place at the family cemetery.

Debbie was born on September 10, 1957, in the quaint coastal town of Marshallberg, North Carolina, Debbie grew into a woman of faith and boundless affection, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Debbie's early years were spent in the nurturing embrace of Marshallberg where she graduated from East Carteret High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with dedication and service to others. She found her calling in the heart of her community, serving many years as the beloved cafeteria manager at Smyrna School. Her unwavering commitment to her work and the joy she brought to it left an indelible mark on colleagues and students alike.

Beyond her professional life, Debbie's heart was truly anchored at home in Davis, North Carolina. She was the cherished wife of Mickey Davis, son of J.C. Davis.

Debbie and Mickey shared countless days out on the water, clamming, oystering, and basking in the coastal sun—activities that brought her immense joy and peace. Together, they created an enduring legacy of love and laughter.

A devoted mother, Debbie took immense pride in her son, Mick Davis, and his wife, Amie, who blessed her with the role of grandmother—an honor she held dear to her heart. Her grandchildren, Zada and Jace Davis, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent in their company, instilling in them the values of love and generosity that she embodied. Debbie's sister, Glenda Guthrie, also held a special place in her life, sharing in the countless precious memories that will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ramona and Sterling Chadwick. Also, her three beloved brothers, Sterling Wayne Chadwick, Michael Glen Chadwick, and Glen Farris Chadwick.

Debbie's life was a testament to the virtues of kindness and compassion. Her ability to care selflessly for everyone around her was matched only by her infectious laughter and the warmth of her presence. She was a woman who lived her faith, not just in words but through her actions, always putting others before herself and ensuring that those in her life felt valued and loved.

Her interests, though simple, were a reflection of her profound appreciation for life's most precious gifts. The days she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, were the ones she held most dear. Her spirit, now free, will continue to be felt in the gentle lapping of the waves against the shore and the laughter of her loved ones as they remember the beautiful soul that was Debbie Davis.

Debbie's legacy is one of love and service, a gentle reminder to all of us to cherish each moment and to live with kindness and grace. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the life she lived and the countless hearts she touched. Though she has set sail on her final journey, the memories she created will continue to anchor us in love and guide us with her enduring light.

As we gather to honor and remember Debbie, we take comfort in knowing that she lived a life full of purpose and joy, and that her spirit will forever remain a guiding force in the lives of those she loved. Rest in peace, Debbie, your legacy will continue to inspire, and your memory will always be a blessing.
