Alvin 'Bluff' Taylor Jr.

Obituary Alvin "Bluff" Taylor Jr., 65, of North River, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort with Bishop Donald Crooms Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow at the Murrell Family Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was a commercial fisherman for over 30 years in Moss Point, Mississippi. When he returned to the North River Community he worked drilling wells, cutting grass, and anything he could do to help in the community. He is survived by his step mother, Margaret Marie Crooms of North River; three brothers, James Monroe Murrell of North River; Charlie Crooms of North River; McClure McArthur Crooms of Winnabow, NC; three sisters, Carol Lockett of Beaufort; Helena Murry of Beaufort; Judy Murray Reels of Beaufort; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Crooms; mother, Vida Taylor; brother, Oliver Taylor; grandmother, Maggie Murrell; grandfather, Columbus Murrell; sister, Lavonne Blount.
