Barbara Jean Carter

Obituary Barbara Jean Carter, 77, of Beaufort, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Royal Park Rehab Center in Matthews, NC. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Bridgeway Church in Beaufort, NC with Pastor William Ellison. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12-1 PM and on Friday from 1-6 PM. The family will be taking visitors at 151 Glenda Drive, Beaufort, NC 28516. Barbara Jean Carter entered eternal life on August 26, 2022. She was born on May 14, 1945, to Rosa Mae Carter and Joe Carter Sr in Beaufort, North Carolina. She was educated in the Beaufort Public School system and attended Queen Street High School. She later moved to New York, New York and attended PACE College where she earned her GED and certification in Home Healthcare. She later went on to work as an Executive Secretary for ABC Networks for several years. After spending years in the big city, Barbara returned to her hometown and begin training to be a licensed cosmetologist in the State of North Carolina. Barbara was a devout Christian and attended Praise International Church until her illness in Havelock, NC. She also received many years of theological training and was an ordained evangelist. After many years of caring for many individuals cosmetology, she returned to her first love of being in the healthcare industry in which she later retired from. Barbara loved shrimp burgers and ice cream. She was a lady always wearing colored lipstick (specifically red) and long pearl necklaces. She was preceded in death by her parents Rosa Mae and Joe Carter and her beloved sister Paulette Carter. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory to her brothers Joe Carter Jr., Roger Lewis Carter, Robert Lee Carter and Kenneth Carter. Her sisters Gwendolyn C. Vann, Brenda Carter, Darlene Carter Johnson and Linda A. Carter. Her children David Carter, William Carter and Oscar Carter. Her grandchildren: Oscar Carter Jr. Takala Carter, Jerome Carter, and Erin N. Carter, 2 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
