Obituary Bessie Jean "Ma Jean" Willis, 83, of Pine Knoll Shores, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Salter Path United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. She is survived by her son, Danny Ray Willis of Morehead City; granddaughter, Amanda Willis Small and her husband Jeffrey Small of Harlowe; grandson, Joseph Willis of Beaufort; great grandchildren, Brody Willis of Beaufort; Emmalyn Kate Willis of Otway; Harrison Small of Harlowe; sister, Anita Murdoch and her husband Preston of Carrollton, VA; sister-in-law, Betty Willis of Salter Path; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Willis; parents, George and Juanita Smith; brother, Billy Wayne Smith; sister, Bonnie Smith; brother-in-law, Curtis Willis, brother and sister in law, Loomis and Nancy Willis; brother and sister in law, Willie and Mary Carolyn Cannon. A visitation will be held at the church the hour prior to the service.
