Bill Tickle Sr.

Bill Tickle, Sr., 83, of Beaufort, passed away Sunday November 8, 2015 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. Mr. Tickle served in the US Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Beaufort where he had served as a Deacon. He was also a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 109, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, and was a Shriner. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church of Beaufort with Pastor Michael Fields officiating, followed by Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Burial will take place at a later date at Ocean View Cemetery in Beaufort. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tish Tickle of Beaufort; son William Ray Tickle, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Beaufort: daughter, Cynthia T. Smith of Newport; four grandchildren, Michael Ray Tickle of Beaufort; Jessica Smith of Cary; Brett Smith of Charleston, SC; Ashley Smith of Goldsboro; two great grandchildren, August William Smith of Charleston, SC; Tyler Caroline Morris of Goldsboro; brother, Ronald E. Tickle and wife, Leah of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Tickle and sister, Bonnie Leftwich.
