Carol Byrd DeBerry "ToTo", of Beaufort, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2016 surrounded by her children at her home. In addition to raising 4 children, Mrs. DeBerry worked as a long haul truck driver and owned and operated an auto body shop. She also worked for over 30 years as a line dance instructor, as dancing was truly her passion. She loved collecting seashells, singing and spending time with her family and friends. Carol was a genuinely happy person and wanted everyone to recognize and appreciate the simple things in life. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church of Newport with Pastor Mitchell Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens of Beaufort. She is survived by her daughter Katherine J. Inabnitt and husband Charles of Newport; son, Bruce Keith Jones and girlfriend Robin Graham of Beaufort; daughter Jamie J. Edwards and husband Robert of Beaufort; and her grandchildren Tracey Brinson and husband Bo, Kimberly Willis, Bruce Jones and wife Jennifer, Alicia Price and husband Randy, Johnny Lupton, Creedance Creech, Jesse Del Creech, Jr. and wife Christina, Allen 'Buddy' Jones, Angelia Morse and husband David. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clifton Brown of Pink Hill and Tommie Byrd of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Allen Jones and by three sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort.
