Obituary Carolyn Mae West Moore, went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 4th, 2018 while at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC. Carolyn was born on October 31, 1939 in Duquesne, Pennsylvania to Barry and Archie Mae West. She married Jay Moore on October 26, 1957. During their marriage, Carolyn and Jay owned and operated several businesses before their retirement. Carolyn lived with her son and his family in Pelletier, NC where she enjoyed visiting with her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed board games and loved her pets. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; daughter, Debra June; daughter, Desie Joan; parents, Barry and Archie Mae West; and five brothers, Melvin, Reggie, Roy, Ronnie and Leslie. Carolyn is survived by her son Danny Moore and wife Sheila; daughter Delores Moore Hernandez and husband Martin; daughter Doreen Moore Saunders and husband Joey; grandchildren Carolyn Mae Hernandez, Emeterio Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez Renfro and husband Kale, William Austin Saunders and wife Justine, and Daniel Carter Moore; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Jasmine and Rowan. As requested prior to her homecoming, a memorial service is not planned. The family would like to convey special thanks to the staffs of Carteret Landing Assisted Living of Morehead City, NC, the Crystal Coast Hospice House of Newport, NC, Crystal Bluff of Morehead City, Carteret Health Care of Morehead City and especially Dr David A Jaworski of Carteret Health Care.
