Carolyn Scott Styron

Carolyn Scott Styron, 73, of Cedar Island, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Refuge Fellowship Church on Harkers Island. Burial will follow at the Cedar Island Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. 

Carolyn Styron brought immense joy to her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warm smile and genuine kindness were always present, lighting up the lives of those around her. A devoted woman of Faith, she cherished her church and community deeply. Her affection for her family was clear in every moment, but her grandchild Jacy Ray Price held a special place in her heart.

Carolyn found joy in preparing family meals, solving crossword puzzles, crocheting, painting, sewing, and celebrating her shared birthday with Elvis Presley. She was truly beloved and will be profoundly missed.

Carolyn was born January 8, 1951, to Lila Mae and Charlie Scott.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Thomas Styron; daughter, Heather Styron (partner Spencer Coffelt); nephew, (Scotty) Chris Styron (partner Bobbie Garver); niece, Crystal Guthrie Murray (husband Jamie); grandchild and love of her life, Jacy Ray Price (partner Ray Settle).

Preceded in death by her parents, Lila Mae and Charlie Scott; her brothers ,Lionel and Denny Scott; sisters, Virginia (Ginny) Scott Jones and Sheila Scott Dixon.
