Charles 'Charlie' Ray Brown

Obituary Charles R. (Charlie) Brown, 83, of Newport passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. Mr. Brown was a member of Open Door Baptist Church, Morehead City. He was a veteran having served in the USMC. He retired from Maola Milk and S&D Coffee. A visitation will be held from 1-2 prior to the service at Open Door Baptist Church of Morehead City. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Open Door Baptist Church of Morehead City with Pastor Jerry Linebarger officiating. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM Monday at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Carolyn Brown of Newport; daughter, Rebecca Goodwin (Jimmy) of Cedar Island two sons, Robert A. Brown (Sylvia) of Atlantic; Kyle E. Brown (Anna) of Cedar Island; stepdaughter, Suelynne Remetio (Gordo) of Los Angeles, CA; stepson, Michael V. Remetio (Kim) of Morehead City; sister, Beverly Goldie Payne (Charlie) of Owensboro, KY; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by many "favorite" nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles H. Brown; parents, William A. and Louise Pennington; sister, Nancy Andrews, brothers, Donald Brown and Billy Pennington.
