Charles 'Chas' Weatherby Jr.

Obituary Charles 'Chas' Melton Weatherby, Jr. , 61, of Beaufort, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his home.Chas was born to Julia and Charles M. Weatherby Sr. at Camp Lejuene Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, NC on July 22, 1959. He graduated from East Carteret High School then enlisted and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1978 to 1986, aiding with the first arrest and seizure in NC that eventually led to the arrest and conviction of Manuel Noriega. He left to pursue a position with the U.S. Customs from 1987 to 1991, part of the undercover Drug Task Force. He served the Merchant Marines from 1992-1994. His final career was in Sales where he exceled and found his natural talent. He is survived by: Mother, Judy Midgett Siblings: Brad Weatherby, Luke Midgett, Charlotte Lewis and husband Jeff. Children: Charlie Weatherby and partner Stephanie, Niki Walker and husband Chuckie, Brittany Rogers and husband Brady, Mason Weatherby, Logan Weatherby, and Crystal Cotton and husband Jeffrey. Grandchildren: Bryson Thomas, Kailar Beaman, Chad Walker, Keller Walker, Noah Rogers, Tyler Long, Tatem Ball, Xander Smith, and Ashton Cotton. Preceeded in death by: father Charles M. Weatherby, Sr., Stepdad Luke 'LB' Midgett, Son Joseph London, and granddaughter Saylor Ann Walker.
