Charles Earl Nolon

Obituary Charles "Pop" Nolon, 60, of Beaufort, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in New Bern. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Faith Tabernacle of Praise with Bishop Donald Crooms officiating. Entombment will follow at the Church Cemetery. Charles, also known as 'Pop' Nolon, was a devoted father, family member, caregiver, and friend. He was well known through out the greater east coast of North Carolina for his fine construction and craftsmanship. In addition, Pop was known for his superb down-home cooking. No one could cook shrimp or fish like him . His delicious dishes and great sense of humor warmed the hearts and nourished the souls of many. Charles was recognized as a skilled intuitive engineer and construction worker. He was also a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house with a smile and the phrase "Good Gracious!" There was no task too difficult for his talent. In addition, he exhibited a youthful and childlike heart which made him adored by all children. Pop loved children as they loved him in return. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends and all who knew him. He was survived by his two sons, Charles A. Nolon of Ladson, SC; Angelo Nolon and wife, Shae of Bayboro, NC; mother, Hilda Nolon of Beaufort; four grandchildren, four sisters, Deborah Sloan and husband, Robert of Houston, TX; Louvenia Johnson of Florien, LA; Vanessa Simmons and husband, Thurman of Beaufort; Naomi Nelson and husband, Michael; two brothers, Ardie Nolon of Beaufort; Carl Nolon of Beaufort; grandchildren, Cameron Nolon, Cydney Nolon, Elijah Nolon, and Micah Nolon; special friends, Tammy Dixon, Dennis Dixon, and Dominic Dixon. He was preceded in death by his father, Ardie Nolon and sister, Ella Nolon.
