Charles Eugene Priddy Sr.

December 7, 1956 — May 29, 2018

Obituary Charles E. Priddy had many titles: husband, father, pap pap, friend, mechanic, and more. Most knew him as a skilled mechanic, having worked on cars since he was 14. Though he was an expert in his trade that isnt what he will be most remembered for by those who knew him best. Those close to him knew that underneath his rough exterior was a kind and giving man. He was willing to go above and beyond what was asked of him. He was never one to give anything less than 100% on anything he did. Charles was well known in Morehead City for working at several garages before buying and running Bayside Muffler. People would follow him from garage to garage to have him work on their vehicles because they knew he was the best around. Not only would he fix the problem, but he always did it at a fair price. His name was synonymous with quality and integrity. Charles wasnt just a mechanic by profession, he was truly a "car guy." He always had a hot rod that he was working on and was always willing to take someone on a "white knuckle grip" of a ride. He spent many weekends at the drag strip racing his own car and watching others. Later in life he moved on from cars and into motorcycles. He loved riding around town, taking trips to Myrtle Beach, and taking part in any organized rides he could find. The family will celebrate his life privately. On May 29th, 2018, Charles took his last ride while surrounded by family and with his wife holding his hand. He leaves behind a family that will miss him dearly. Charles is survived by his wife, Debbie Jones Priddy of Morehead City; daughter, Angela Jones of Morehead City; two step-sons, Tony Gray and wife Heather of Morehead City; Christopher Gray and wife Emily of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Laci Gray; Chloe Gray; Eli Gray; and Tyler Gray. The next time you hear a hot rod revving up or you see a motorcycle cruise by take a moment and think of him. Hell be missed but not forgotten. We love you Charles.
