Charles Wesley Springle, 82, of Beaufort, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home.

Charles was born on December 18, 1942, to the late Hubert and Loretta Springle, one of eleven children. Charles served in the US Air Force for seven years. Following the military, Charles began work at Sprint Telephone, now known as Brightspeed. He worked faithfully for over 35 years before retiring. He had a passion for golf and fishing and was also an avid bowler. Known as a skilled pool player, he enjoyed friendly competition at the table. When he wasn’t competing, you could find him at home watching the Atlanta Braves or UNC Tar Heels.

A devoted husband, Charles, was always by his wife’s side, especially on the dance floor. Whether at a formal event or an impromptu moment, they were often the last dancing, bringing joy to those around them. His lively spirit and love for life made him the heart of any gathering.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

The family will celebrate his life privately.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Ann Springle of Beaufort; daughter, Donna Russo and husband, Stanley of Graham, NC; son, David Wesley Springle and wife, Paige of Goose Creek, SC; grandson, Benjamin Springle; granddaughter, Isabella Springle; grandson, Caleb Russo; grandson, Joseph Russo; granddaughter, Savannah Russo; sister, Janice Whitehurst of Beaufort; sister, Mary Cox of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Loretta Springle; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; sisters, Alberta Choate, Isabelle Raymond, June Springle; brothers, Elijah Springle, Gene Springle, Johnny Springle, Hubert Springle Jr. and Frank Edward Springle Sr. as well as his granddaughter, Arabella Russo
