Charlie C. Parker, 73, of Newport, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at his home. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC with Military Honors. Mr. Parker served in the US Air Force for over 21 years retiring as a Master Sergeant. He went on to retire from NADEP Cherry Point. He was a Past President of the Lions Club of York County Virginia and Commissioner of the East Coast Senior Softball League. He was a volunteer for meals on wheels with the Leon Mann Senior Center in Morehead City. He was a family man and loved NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra Parker of Newport; daughter, Jodi Auleta and husband, Mike of Newport; son, Charles D. Parker of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Justin Auleta; Jeffrey OHeran both of Newport; and Jessica Schiavone of Morehead City; brother, Gene Parker and wife, Brenda of Nashville, NC; four sisters, Kay Evans and husband, James of Red Oak, NC; Jeanette Brown of Chesapeake, VA; Cathy Towmey and husband, Bob of Virginia Beach, VA; Sherry Willis of Virginia Beach, VA.
