Chris “Cutter” Goodwin, 57, of Cedar Island, passed away on August 20, 2024.
Known as the "Crab King," Cutter dedicated his life to the water as a commercial fisherman, where his relentless work ethic was as vast as the ocean he cherished. Cutter also worked with Norfolk Dredging Company “Essex” and other companies on and off for 15-20 years.
Cutter was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simplicity of life. His love for singing, dancing, and cooking was only surpassed by the time he cherished with his friends and family. Above all, his son Jackson was the center of his universe, embodying the love and passion Cutter brought into the world.
His legacy as a hard worker who died doing what he loved will continue to inspire those who knew him. Cutter’s life, marked by dedication and joy, will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loved ones and the community of Cedar Island.
