Cynthia "Cindi" Renee Haning, 65, of Atlantic, was called home Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Carteret Health Care; while surrounded by loving friends and family. Cindi was loved by many in Atlantic and was always proud to be from Down East. She was later blessed with many friendships during her years living on Cedar Island before returning home to enjoy precious time with family. A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Atlantic United Methodist Church with Pastor Manley Rose, Pastor Jack Colenda and Pastor Ron Davies officiating. The family will receive friends at the church the hour prior to the service. She was dedicated to the NC Ferry Division with almost 20 years of service. She loved her job in the ticket booth, her coworkers and the lifelong friendships she made with her travelers. Cindi was always a warm and loving person having never met a stranger and making friends in an instant. Her laugh was contagious and full of joy. Cindi loved laying out in the sun, cutting grass and warm coastal weather. Throughout her life, Cindi remained a generous person in every way. Cindi was an excellent cook, often spending many hours making cinnamon candy and fudge to give away to friends and family. Cindis loving spirit was a blessing to everyone she met. She always continued to laugh, live life and share her love and joy. Her precious granddaughter, Shelbie, and special nephew, baby Sebastian, gave her purpose, filling her days with many hugs, laugher and unending love. She will be forever loved and missed by her son, Paul Morris and wife, Jodi; with special granddaughter, Shelbie Lou, the joy of her life, all of Atlantic; brother, Phillip Haning and wife, Linda; with niece, Alicia Nelson and husband, Jeff; niece, Erica Lewis and husband, Luther; nephew, Phil Haning and wife, April; all of Morehead City; sister, Glenda Haning of Atlantic; with niece, Gail Brooks of Beaufort; nephew, Stephen Taylor and wife, Cara of Atlantic; sister, Kathy Goodwin of Atlantic; with nephew, Sean Gaskill of Mississippi; niece, Toni Styron and husband, Samuel of Cedar Island; sister, Andrea Haning; with niece, Audra Odum and husband, Corky all of Morehead City; as well as many great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was welcomed home with loving arms by her mother, Hazel Haning; many loving aunts; uncles; cousins; and extended family.
