Dakota 'Cody' Leonty Oden

Obituary Dakota "Cody" Oden, 34, of Havelock, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Carolina East Medical Center of New Bern. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort with Pastor Michael Manning officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Oden Family Cemetery. Dakota "Cody" Leonty Oden, son of Loretter Mae Oden and the late Armon Oliver was born September 6, 1986 in New Bern, NC. Cody was a very kind, compassionate, giving and friendly person. Cody graduated from New Bern High School then he moved back to the Adams Creek Community. Cody loved to go fishing. He worked as a manager at Burger King in Havelock, NC then he moved on to something better at Plaza Super Store in Havelock, NC. Whenever you saw his mother, you saw him. Cody leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Loretter Oden; two brothers, Jackie Oden of Newport, NC and Wayne Oden of the home; two sisters, Tracey Oliver and Shanae Oliver, both of Burlington, NC; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends; one special aunt, Delphine Hacker; God children, Ashanti Bryant, Jacob Godette and Delilah Godette; and special friends, Prentice Bryant, Dwight Everette, Flint Manning Sr., Fred Nelson and Lionel Reels. He is preceded in death by his dad, Armon Oliver; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Atlantic Oden; paternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Gertrude Oliver.
