David 'Dave' Eaton Wilcox

David "Dave" Wilcox, 73, of Smyrna passed away on Friday, June 23 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Mr. Wilcox left his R&D Engineering career where he developed 13 patents to follow his first love of building wooden boats. His dream lasted for over 20 years as the owner and operator of Pelican Yachts. His family and friends were always his first concern and love, he volunteered endless hours to those in need. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Bridgeway Church with Pastor Porter R. Graves III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service for a meal and fellowship at the church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Wilcox of Smyrna; two sons, David Wilcox and wife, Jennifer of Gastonia, NC; Tony Wilcox and wife, Beth of Manteo, NC; five grandchildren, Olivia, David Noah, Bailey, and Caroline; great granddaughter, Penny; brother, Glenn Wilcox of Florence, OR; and dear friend Susan Ward of Harkers Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret Wilcox; brother, Neil Wilcox. The family expresses a special thank you to the Bridgeway Church family for their continuous prayers, visits, and support.
