Donnie Edward Gillikin

Obituary Donnie Edward Gillikin, 83, of Smyrna passed away December 12, 2018 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. Donnie worked on dredge boats and later became a great carpenter and boat builder. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday at Otway Christian Church with Pastor Jack Mumford officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Nelson Bay Cemetery in Sea Level. Born on December 3, 1935 in Otway to Tom and Alice Gillikin. Married to the love of his life, Leta Taylor Gillikin for 53 years. They were parents to two sons, Donnie Wayne Gillikin of Beaufort and Mark Kevin Gillikin and wife, Angela of Otway. Two granddaughters, Jade Gillikin of Harkers Island and Sandra Gillikin of Otway. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Alice Gillikin; brothers: Linwood, Charlie, Cicero, and Louie; sisters, Madeline and Dallas. He will be greatly missed by his family whom loved him very much. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 Monday at the church.
