Dorothy Mackenzie

Dorothy Mackenzie, 94, of Morehead City, formerly of Winter Park, FL, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Harborview Health Care Center in Morehead City, NC. She is survived by her son, Robert Dern, and wife, Liz Jones-Dern, of Morehead City; granddaughter, Liana McNutt and husband, Brad, of Morehead City; two great granddaughters, Hannah and Sammie McNutt; and a son-in-law, Frank Cruz, of Casselberry, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Dern; sister, Evelyn Plowman; her second husband, John Mackenzie; and, daughter, Sharon Cruz. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local humane society.
