Edward Russell

Edward B. Russell, Jr., 78, of Beaufort, passed away on Friday, May 5th, 2017, at his home in Beaufort. The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life service on Wednesday May 10th, 6:00pm 8:00pm at The Spouter Inn Restaurant 218 Front St. Beaufort. He was born on October 2, 1938 in Maryland. After graduating from the University of Maryland, he spent 2 years in the US Airforce, then began work with the Federal Government, Department of Navy. Ed had a long career with NOAA working as a budget analyst. In 1982 His entrepreneur interest brought the family to Beaufort, NC, purchasing and operating The Spouter Inn Restaurant for many great years. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 yrs, Sandra Russell; daughters, Lorrie Russell, Robin Held and husband Matt, Kelly Campbell and husband Bill; grandchildren, Shaun Christensen, Steven Johnson, Charlotte Johnson and husband Edward Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Cayden Christensen and Madison Mason of Carteret County NC; and a niece Holly Harriss of CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Harriss of CA; father, Edward Russell Sr. of Carteret Co; and sister, Cheryl Harriss of CA.
