Obituary On Friday, February 17, 2023, Ella Dale Morris Murray, the daughter of the late Johnnie & Robenia Morris assumed her seat next to her Lord and Savior. She entered this life January 1, 1958, in New Bern, NC. Ella surrendered her life to the Lord and was baptized at the age of 12 at St. Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Havelock, NC. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 25, 2023, at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Hubert Judon officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Ella received her education though the Craven County School System and graduated from Havelock High School. Ella made her home in Beaufort and was united in Holy Matrimony to Jimmy Lee Murray in 1979 and to this union two children were born. She easily fulfilled the duties of being a loving wife and mother. Ella was her happiest when she was reading her bible, singing, and listening to gospel music. She was a woman who loved God with all her heart and was a prayer warrior for many. Ella would help anyone and would give you her last. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and had a special love for flowers and frogs. Ella was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie & Robenia Morris, God parents Herbert & Catherine Gooding; and her sister Lorran Morris. She leaves to cherish her love and memories; Her devoted husband Jimmy Lee Murray of the home, daughter Daisy Mahaffey (Luther) of Beaufort; son Ataurus Murray of the home. Grandchildren Christopher Simmons (Significant other Kelsey) of Morehead City; My'Siah, Tyrik, Charnella Mahaffey all of Beaufort; Great-Grandchildren Kaliyah and Kaleigh Simmons of Morehead City; Three sisters Katie Murray (Julius), Rita Benders (Artis) of Beaufort; Galetta White (Micheal) of Havelock; Three brothers Gene Morris (Carolyn) of Virginia Beach; Johnnie Morris (Gilda) of Crowley, Louisiana; Craig Morris (Aby) of Beaufort; Brother-In-Law Alfonzo Simmons of Beaufort; Sister-In-Law Esther Jones of Greenville. A host of nieces and nephews, A god-son Sharod Wallace; Special sister Lillian (Christeen) Murray, as well as special friends; Patty Felton, Linda E. Prioleau and Nellie Crooms and a host of cousins.
