Esther L. Salter

Obituary It pains me to admit it, but apparently I have passed away. Everyone told me it would happen one day but that's simply not something I wanted to hear, much less experience. Once again, I didn't get things my way. That's been the story of my life, all of my life. Esther Lewis Salter 72, of Beaufort, NC went to be with her lord and savior, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center. Esther Lewis Salter was born on September 21, 1948 to the late Clen and Neta Lewis of Atlantic. She was the youngest of 4 sisters, Susan Fulcher, the late Rebecca Fitzpatrick, Jane DeBuhrl and her special cousin, Linda Taylor. She is survived by her by her loving husband 'Dink, her piano man', Dwayne Salter from Salter Path and their children, Adam Bland, Michael, Megan, Samantha, and Whitney Salter. She enjoyed more than anything spending time with family, but most of all, her 6 grandkids, Kevin, Victoria, Gracie, Lilly, Emmie and Weston, who loved and knew her as their 'Nonnie'. Esther was a simple woman and enjoyed the little things in life. She loved to be on the water with her family. Esther had a lot of love for her cat, Stewie and her 2 dogs, Harry and Abby. She was dedicated to her church in Salter Path and her love for the Lord. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Esther and mailed to the family at 906 Meadows Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
