Obituary Ezzerd Charles 'C.J.' Brewington Jr., 43, of Raleigh passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Bridgeway Church in Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Felton Family Cemetery following the service. Ezzerd Charles Brewington Jr. AKA (CJ) (C-Gutta) is survived by his wife Crystal Dillard Brewington of Maysville, NC. Born May 16, 1978 in Patterson, NJ, he lived there until his early middle school years. He and his younger brother moved to North Carolina at an early age. CJ had a passion for cooking and cooked at a number of restaurants on the Beaufort Waterfront where he met many friends. Family was important to him, no matter what came his way he did what had to do to stay above water. He was a hardworking, independent, self-surviving, God-fearing man. He started his own loving family in 1995 when he had his first daughter, Paulisha Vann of Portland, Oregon, then Destince Brewington Vann of Beaufort, NC, Mariah Brewington of Maysville, NC and lastly his son, Elijah Brewington, also of Maysville, NC. Three beautiful queens and one handsome king. He is survived by his father, Charles Brewington (Rodna) of Baltimore, MD; his mother, Brenda Simmons of Durham, NC; three brothers, Jamar Brewington of Havelock, NC, Ronald Sherrin of Texas and Antony Sherrin (Ilene) of Patterson, NJ; along with seven nieces and two nephews. He had a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His grandparents, the late Riley & Christine Felton; mother-In-Law, Sharon Willis; and the late Rev.
