Gilda Gray Pesta

Gilda Hardesty Pesta, 87, of Hardesty Farm, passed away Sunday July 17, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Gilda was a member of the Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church of Beaufort. Most would remember her as the owner and operator of Farm and Home Supply, which later became Hoot Nanny, and later, Gildas Dance World on Highway 101 in Beaufort. She was also a commercial fisherman and avid gardener. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellery and Clara Jones Hardesty; sister, Leola Nebulung; brother, Marvin Hardesty; sister, Jannie Mann; sister, Shirley Howell; brother, Floyd Hardesty; husband, Edward Pesta; granddaughter, Elaine Sowers; daughter, Barbara Pesta Sowers who leaves behind: granddaughter, Tammy Sowers Nobles and husband, Tim; great grandson, Eric Lawrence and wife Chelsea; great great granddaughter, Emma Lawrence; great granddaughter, Heather Whitley and husband, Kevin; great great grandson, Owen Whitley; great granddaughter, Holly Nobles; great great granddaughter, Brailee Nobles; great granddaughter, Tina Nobles; great great grandson, Jasper DeOliveira; granddaughter, Jackie Sowers Bastin and husband, Johnny; great grandson, Travis Bastin; great granddaughter, Cheyenne Feagle and husband, Daniel. She is also preceded in death by her step son, Raymond Pesta who leaves behind: granddaughter, Sharie Pesta Millard; great granddaughter, Stephanie Smith and husband, Harrison; great granddaughter, Danielle Fuller and husband, Mark; great grandson, David Millard; great great granddaughter, Sarah Millard; grandson, Carl Pesta and wife, Sherri; great grandsons, Garett Pesta and Wayatt Pesta. She is also preceded in death by her step daughter, Arlene Pesta Sowers who leaves behind: grandson, Michael Sowers Jr.; great granddaughter, Poppy Bryant; grandson, Brian Sowers; great granddaughter, Alivia Sowers; grandson, Paul Sowers; grandson, David Sowers; granddaughter, Julia Sowers Kimbrell; great granddaughter, Brianna; granddaughter, Cynthia Sowers; great granddaughter, Olivia Sowers; great grandson, Logan Sowers. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday at the Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church of Beaufort with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating.
