Gloria B. Gillikin, 91, of Beaufort, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at PruittHealth Crystal Coast of Beaufort.
Mrs. Gloria was a lifelong member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Beaufort where she was a Sunday School Teacher and choir member for over 60 years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at First Free Will Baptist Church of Beaufort with Pastor Richard Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens in Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday at the church. A recording of the service will be posted on the funeral home website after the service.
She is survived by her son, Larry Gillikin and wife, Laura of Bettie; daughter, JoAnne Warren and husband, Butch of Zebulon; grandchildren, Kimberly Peppers and husband, Jonathan of Otway; Shannon Nelson and husband, Anthony Jr of Bettie; great grandchildren, Christopher Nelson of Harkers Island; Ashlyn Nelson of Bettie; Ava Piner of Beaufort; Arin Piner of Beaufort; Kenli Peppers of Gloucester; Karsyn Peppers of Otway; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Joe” Buttry and Janie Buttry; husband, Guy C. Gillikin Jr.; sisters, Mary Edwards and Milan Willis; and brother, R L Buttry.
