Harold E. Jayne Sr., 88, of Beaufort, originally of Long Island, NY, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at his home.
Harold was a devoted husband and father who found joy in building, fishing, playing golf, and cooking. He took great pride in his service with the U.S. Army in Aviation and later built a career in residential and commercial construction on Long Island, New York.
Those who knew Harold remember him as a kind-hearted man who never spoke a bad word about anyone. His legacy of warmth and dedication will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort. Burial will follow at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am on Monday at the church.
Harold was survived by his wife of 64 years, Arline Jayne of Beaufort; daughter, Mary Anne Martin and husband, Daniel of Sound Beach, NY; son, Harold “Brother” E. Jayne Jr. and partner, Christie Nelson of Shoreham, NY; daughter, Diane Hartill and husband, John of Hardeeville, SC; son, Kenneth Jayne of Miller Place, NY; son, Keith Jayne and wife, Kate of Beaufort; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Sisneros and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, NM; son, Michael Jayne and wife, Shannon of Port Jefferson Station, NY; 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; brother, Anthony Mizzi of Floral Park, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emilie Jayne; and his three siblings.
