Hattie Jefferson

Obituary Hattie Hester Jefferson, daughter of the late James Norman Hester and Izora Ward Hester, was born September 30, 1948 in Morehead City, NC. She was called home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2020 at Carteret Health Care. She joined St. Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age. Before she became ill, she worked in housekeeping and was also a caregiver for the sick and shut-in. She was a very pleasant person and she will be missed in the family and the community. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at St. Stephen AME Zion Church of Morehead City with Rev. Dr. William T. Snow officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City. Hattie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Izora Ward Hester; her father, James Norman Hester; and her brother, Romeo Ward. She is survived by her first cousin and caretaker, Ethel Hill and a host of cousins and friends who all loved her dearly.
