Henry Colon Cates Jr.

Henry Cates, 68, of Newport, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Crystal Coast Hospice House. Mr. Cates was an avid sports fan and longtime supporter of the Duke Blue Devils. He also loved playing golf and traveling. The family will celebrate his life privately. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cates of Newport, NC; son, Aaron Kyle Cates of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Kristin Nicole Dempster and her husband, Robert Anthony Dempster of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Jacob Robert Dempster and Ryan Robert Dempster of Denver, CO and sister, Alicia Darlene Dupuy of Pell City, AL.
