Obituary Hilda Dawson Gardner, 86, of Otway passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Kinston. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Alphin of Kinston; two sons, Joseph Johnson of Beaufort; Russell "Rusty" Gardner Jr of Sanford; two daughters, Nora Gillikin of Otway; Johnice Salter of Otway; six grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Dawson of Kinstion; sister, Ella Lou Jones of Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Nora Dawson; two husbands, Joseph Johnson and Russell Gardner; sister, Janie Fields; two brothers, Horace and Bynum Dawson.
