Hilda Mae Nolon

Hilda Mae Nolon, a guiding light of love and grace, peacefully departed on January 9, 2024, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City, at the age of 86.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bridgeway Church of Nazarene, 100 Lockhart Drive, Beaufort NC. There will be a visitation one hour prior.

Born on January 31, 1937, in Havelock, NC, to Earl and Emma Wilson, Hilda's life was a testament of compassion and selflessness. Known for her caring heart and boundless willingness to help others, she found joy in reading her Bible, sewing, singing, dancing, cooking, and sharing precious moments with family and friends.

Hilda is survived by her cherished children, Deborah (Robert) Sloan, Louvenia Johnson, Vanessa (Thurman) Simmons, Naomi (Michael) Nelson, Ardie D. Nolon, and Carl Nolon; her sister, Anna Wilson; two brothers, Tommy Crooms and Tony Crooms and a legacy that includes ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Emma Wilson; her husband Ardie Nolon; daughter Ella Nolon; son Charles Nolon; sister Iza Turner; and brothers Frank Frazier, Lee Wilson, and Jeffro Wilson.

In these moments of sorrow, let us remember Hilda not with tears, but with the joyous memories she bestowed upon us. May her love continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
