Ivey Vinston Mason

Ivey Mason Jr., 84, of Otway, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at his home. Mr. Mason graduated from Beaufort High School class of 1951 and went on to serve in the US Coast Guard. He also served on the Urban Renewal and Development Board and as the Police Commissioner of Beaufort. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2017 at Otway Christian Church with Pastor Jack Mumford officiating. He is survived by his son, Mitchell Haynes and wife, Serena Lawrence Mason of Otway, four grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Fond Jones of Beaufort. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Mason Sr. and Leonda Bullock Mason; wife, Doris Haynes Mason; two sisters, Penny Bruntkhorse and Shirley Adair.
