James 'Jamie' Bryan Lawrence Jr.

Obituary James "Jamie" Bryan Lawrence Jr., 75, of Otway passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Carolina East Medical Center of New Bern. Mr. Lawrence was the owner and operator of Outer Banks Auto Parts of Otway. He also retired from Cherry Point as a maintenance mechanic and was a Commercial Fisherman. He was Past President of the Firemans Association of NC and former Chief of Otway Fire Department. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Otway Christian Church with Pastor Jack Mumford officiating. Burial will follow at Martha Louise Family Cemetery in Otway. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Gillikin Lawrence of Otway; daughter, Serena Lawrence Mason and husband, Mitchell Mason of Otway; son, James Bryan Lawrence III and finance, Caroline Reta Lewis of Otway; four grandchildren, Whitney, Cameron, Chandler, and James Brandon; five great grandchildren, Madison, Makinleigh, Gabrielle, James Colt, and Adelyn; brother in law, Jackie Gillikin; sister in law, Laraine Gillikin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loving cat Sonny. He is preceded in death by his mother, Moria Pake McIntosh; father, James Bryan Lawrence; stepfather, Frank McIntosh. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
