Obituary Jeanne Slater, 85, of Newport, passed away to go to our heavenly father on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Harlowe United Methodist Church with Pastor Rochelle Bailey officiating. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, John P. Slater, one daughter, Carol Lynn Owens, one grandchild and one great grandchild. She is survived by her children, Karen of Baltimore, MD, Phyllis and husband David Dunkerson of Indianapolis, IN, Howard and wife Gladys Owens of Newport, Brenda and husband Tom Pettry of Yuma, AZ, Bradley Slater of Newport, Virginia Brown of Harlowe, Victor and wife Cheryl Slater of Newport. She also had 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
