Jessy Carter

Jessy "Leon" Carter, 62, of Havelock,  passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Carolina East in New Bern.

A Celebration of Leon’s Life will be held in a private ceremony.

After graduating from East Carteret High School, Mr. Carter served in the U.S. Marine Corps for over 12 years.

He is survived by his grandsons, Shaun Carter of New Bern, and Joseph Carter of Havelock, NC; one sister, Omelia Carter of Beaufort; four brothers, Larry Carter of Beaufort, Joshua Carter III of Goldsboro, Johnny Carter of Louisiana, and David (Ashel) Carter of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Tessie Carter; father, Joshua Carter; sister, Diane; brother, Kenneth; and his son, Jessy Carter Jr.
