Jimmy Willis

Jimmy Dale Willis, Jr., 53, of Atlantic, passed away August 17, 2015 at home with his loving wife by his side. A funeral service will be held 7: 00PM Thursday at the Atlantic United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Willis worked as a commercial fisherman for over 20 years. He also earned his chief engineering license on offshore marine tug boats. His greatest goal was to return to work at sea. Mr. Willis was known for being a hard worker and a dedicated family man especially being "papa" to "his boys", Ryan and Noah. Mr. Willis was an avid pocket watch collector and repairer. He enjoyed talking about cars, trucks, and engines. With all of the life and health obstacles, Jimmy showed he was a true fighter. Jimmy will truly be missed but never forgotten. Mr. Willis is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Mary G. Willis of the home; daughter, Maria Willis Pepperman of Beaufort; two grandsons, Ryan Jr. and Noah; mother, Ann Lane of Morehead City; brother, David Ray Willis of Newport; two sisters, Kathryn "Sissy" Willis of Pensacola, FL; Tresa Rohrbaugh and husband, Chris of Atlantic; special family, Craig Stengel and Ryan Pepperman; and close friend, Danny Mason. Preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Willis Sr. and his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Julia Willis.
