John Michael Mcginty, Sr

Obituary John M. McGinty Sr. of Morehead City, formerly of Inverness, FL passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Harborview Rehabilitation. A private burial will take place at a later date. Mr. McGinty served his country as a Sargent in the USMC and met his wife while serving at the US Embassy in Pakistan. John worked as a warehouse manager, and retired from Tropic Oil Company in Miami. He loved fishing, playing pool and entertaining family and friends. He and his wife owned several horses and spent their later years trail riding in the forest near their home. He is survived by his son, John M. McGinty Jr and his wife Lisa of Newport; grandson, John Michael McGinty III of Morehead City; brother, Marshall McGinty Jr and his wife Judy of Burnsville, NC; and sister, Sheila McGinty of Vero Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Ellen Dorris McGinty.
