Johnnie "Danny" Jones

Johnnie “Danny” Jones, 77, of Beaufort, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.

Danny was drafted into the United States Army at a young age, where he served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of duty and resilience, qualities that he carried throughout his life.

 After returning home, Danny embarked on a career as an auto painter, a profession he excelled in for over 30 years in Carteret County. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and unwavering hard work ethic.

 The family will celebrate his life privately. 

 He is survived by his son, Dwayne Lawrence and wife, Marianne of Beaufort; daughter, Kimberly Dixon and husband, Kyle of Beaufort; daughter, Faye Smith of Morehead City; son, Jason Jones and wife, Kim of New Bern; grandson, Eric Lawrence and wife, Chelsea of Beaufort; granddaughter, Megan Lewis and husband, Brandon of Gloucester; grandson, Aaron Lawrence of New Bern; granddaughter, Madison Reynolds and husband, Jack of Morehead City; granddaughter, Peyton Smith of Morehead City; two great granddaughters, Riley Brooke Hill of Gloucester; Emma Faye Lawrence of Beaufort; sister, Brenda McCarthy of Beaufort; brother, Tommy Jones of Virginia Beach, VA.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Grace Jones and his brother, Frank Jones.
