Joseph 'Joe' Garland Styron Sr

Obituary Joseph "Joe" Garland Styron Sr, 62, of Newport, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Carteret Health Care. Joe was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He made a living as a fisherman and truck driver. He was a long-time member of Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church in Newport. The family will hold a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church in Newport, with Pastor Mitchell Parker officiating. Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Styron of the home; son, Joey Styron and his wife Meghan of Newport; grandchildren, Jasmine Styron; Ivy Styron; James Clemens; Phoenix Fields; Joseph Lyndell Styron all of Newport; brother, Melvin Styron and his wife Penny Mason of Atlantic; brother, Phillip Styron of Atlantic; sister, Linda Styron of Morehead City; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved chiweenie, Missy; and grand dog Chance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Marlene (Taylor) Styron; daughter, Jamie Parmley Styron; grandson, Shaun Michael Styron; brother James Michael Styron Sr; and sister, Dot Styron Lynch.
