Joshua Adam Mason

Obituary Joshua Adam Mason, 20, of Atlantic, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Pamlico County. Joshua worked as a boatbuilder through the Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center in Beaufort. He loved animals, hunting, his country and served as a Young Marine. He helped others whenever he could, including assisting Hurricane Florence victims who were staying in shelters. He had dreams of becoming a firefighter like his father, and had been a member of the lake Waccamaw Volunteer Fire Department. The family will celebrate his life privately. Pamlico County friends will hold a memorial service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Dublin Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church 614 Bay City Rd, Aurora, NC 27806 with Rev. Owen Peele officiating. Joshua is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Mason and her companion, Walter Goodwin of Cedar Island; half-sister, Dakota Mason of James City; half-brother, Chance Goodwin of Cedar Island; maternal grandparents, Steve and Ann Jones of Beaufort; aunt, Michelle Bazzle of Morehead City; father figure, Bob Holcomb of Durham; and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Greg Mason; paternal grandfather, Joe Dan Mason; paternal grandmother, Marina "Lu" Bartholovich; and uncles, Ken Mason Sr.; and Preston Mason.
