Letitia 'Tish' Tickle

Letitia S. "Tish" Tickle, 83, of Beaufort, passed away Wednesday February 3, 2016 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. Mrs. Tickle worked at Cherry Point where she met her husband Bill. She went on to work as a secretary for Halsey Paul Motor Company as well as Leslie Moore Insurance. She later retired from Carteret County Finance Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Beaufort and a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son William Ray Tickle, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Beaufort; daughter, Cynthia Tickle Smith of Newport; four grandchildren, Michael Ray Tickle of Beaufort; Jessica Leigh Smith of Cary; Brett Adam Smith of Charleston, SC; Ashley Lynn Smith of Goldsboro; two great grandchildren, August William Smith of Charleston, SC; Tyler Caroline Morris of Goldsboro; two sisters, Catherine Simpson Greene and husband, John of Beaufort; Barbara Sue Janis and husband, Richie of Beaufort. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Tickle; parents, Monroe and Thelma Simpson; sister, Judy Pilcher; two brothers, Michael D. Simpson and Johnnie G. Simpson. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Beaufort on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Fields officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Ocean View Cemetery in Beaufort. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 403 Ann St., Beaufort, NC 28516.
