Obituary Lionel Morris, 64, of North River, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaufort. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the church. He will be laid to rest at Reels Chapel Church Cemetery in Merrimon. Lionel was born on January 29, 1957 to Fannie Wooten and the late Randolph Reels. He was raised in a Christian and loving home by his foster parents, Otto and Mollie Credle of Mesic, NC. Lionel accepted Christ at a early age at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a member of the choir and he graduated from Pamlico High School in 1975. He spent his life as a commercial fisherman and was happy on the water. He is survived by his mother, Fannie Morris Wooten; two children, Marqueda Morris and Kazia Morris; wife, Seretha Morris; siblings, Velma Geddie (Theodore), Windora Harvey (Willie), Maristine Davis (Fredrick), Larry Wooten (Vivian), Audrey Wooten (Malcolm), Bruce Murrell (Tina), Clark Reels, and Barbara Pickle; grandsons, Tyshaun Morris and Jayden Campbell; sisters-in-law, Galene Williams, Geraldine Johnson, Kathy Gaynor, Adele Coffey (Thomas); brothers-in-law, Percy Moore (Brenda), Dan Swinton Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jesse Johnson. Lionel was preceded in death by his son, Tyshaun Ropel Tripp; father, Randolph Reels; and sisters, Laureen Morris, Angelene Reels and David Craig Reels.
