Loretta Mae Fox

Loretta Mae Fox, 89, of Atlantic, a loving mother and grandmother, was called home on March 30, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, surrounded by her loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the church.

Loretta was a devout Christian, who loved to quilt, and loved her dog Tazzy. She was born the tenth of eleven children in Gallipolis, OH. She passed a great deal of her time reading and studying her Bible, enjoying nature, and being with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Renick and Hazel Hendren as well as nine brothers and sisters, and her grandson, Joseph Morris.

Loretta is survived by her brother, Nick and Patricia Hendren of Tennessee; her daughters, Debbie and Stacy Willis of Morehead City, NC, Sandra and Bennie Everette of Atlantic, NC; Linda Carmean of Newport, NC; and Peggy Smith of Atlantic, NC. Also to carry on her loving memory are her grandchildren: Michael and Melina Murray, Amanda and Jeremy Dixon, James Michael and Tiffany Styron, Charles “Beaver” Styron, Brian and Caitlin Manchester, Allen Carmean, Richard and Anna Carmean, Ryan Carmean, Hayden Carmean, Courtney Willis, Daniel and Megan Smith, and Leighton Hardy. She was blessed to have nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Loretta, you will be remembered often, missed much, and live on in the hearts of many.
