Lt. Col. Christopher Fleet Oswalt

Obituary Lt. Col. Christopher Fleet Oswalt (Retired US Army), 58, of Newport passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort with Chaplain Patrick Whaley officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. He is survived by his daughter, Attelia Joy Oswalt of Swansboro; son, Christian Ian Oswalt of Newport; daughter, Noelle Helaine Oswalt of Jacksonville; two brothers, Timothy R. Oswalt of Jacksonville; Jonathan K. Oswalt of Newport; sister, Penelope Oswalt of Cordova, Alaska; and dear friend Mary Margaret Hayes Bechtold of Morehead City. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carmen Oswalt and a sister, Paula Oswalt. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 Saturday prior to the service at the Church.
