Marguerite Seely

Obituary Marguerite Lewis Seely, 91, of Marshallberg, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Pruitt Health Sea Level. Marguerite was born and raised in Marshallberg. She was a lifelong member of Marshallberg Baptist Church. She was a 1949 graduate of Smyrna High School and was the class president. Marguerite worked with Carteret County Social Services until she married the love of her life, Seely, in 1960. After living at several Naval bases, they returned to live in Marshallberg where Marguerite was a homemaker. In later years she worked at the Marshallberg Post Office. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday at Marshallberg Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Through The Woods Cemetery in Marshallberg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 at the church on Thursday. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Leslie Nottingham and husband, Michael of Charlotte; son, Lewis Reid Seely and wife, Renee of Smyrna; two grandchildren, Brooke Seely Hill and husband, Thomas of Bettie; Breanna Reid Seely of Wilmington; great grandson, Elijah Hill of Bettie. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Lewis; husband, Richard Reid Seely; and her eight siblings.
