April 17, 1934 — February 23, 2017

Mary Lou Wright, 82, of Newport, NC passed away Thursday February 23, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. Mrs. Wright was a lifelong member of Harlowe United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00PM on Sunday February 26, 2017 at Harlowe United Methodist Church with Pastor Gina Barrow officiating. In the celebration of Mary Lous cheerful attitude about life, we ask that you wear colorful clothing in her memory. Mrs. Wright is survived by her two daughters, Iona Whitehurst, husband Roger, of Straits; Rhonda Wright of Newport; grandchildren, Charlie Weatherby of Morehead City; Niki Walker and husband, Chucky of Beaufort; Joy Englehardt, boyfriend John Carney, of Wilmington; great-grandchildren, Nichols Lee Joyner of Atlantic; Bryson Thomas of New York; Chad Walker of Beaufort; Keller Walker of Beaufort; Kailar Beaman of Morehead City; and Jaxson Englehardt of Wilmington. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Wright; Parents, "Pappy and Granny" Glendon B. and Bertha L. (Ellis) Blevins; and great-granddaughter Saylor Ann Walker. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during Mary Lous illness.
