Melvina Willis

Melvina Rose Willis, 82, of Otway, formerly of Harkers Island passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at her daughter’s home.

Melvina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Harkers Island Ward.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Harkers Island Ward. A burial will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 on Monday at the church.

She is survived by her daughter, Renae Mason and her husband, Preston of Otway; son, Jay Willis and fiancée, Meredith of Raleigh; grandchildren, Jaysa Morgan and husband, Damion of Mill Creek; Elizabeth Mason of Beaufort; Jana Willis and fiancée, Joey of Greenville; Braysen Willis of Sanford, NC; five sisters, Nola Hancock of Harkers Island; Deanna Willis of Williston; Laraine Gillikin and husband, Jackie of Otway; Eileen Lewis and husband, Buddy of Harkers Island; Terry Futreal and husband, Johnny of Harkers Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cletus and Nettie Rose; her husband, Jackie Willis; and her half-brother, Charles Davis.
