Obituary Michael B. Greer, 31, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Newport. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church of Newport with Pastor Mitchell Parker officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM Sunday at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, VA. He is survived by his daughter, Kenley Ann Greer of New Bern; mother, Melody A. Brooks of Newport; grandmother, Linda K. McBride of Marion, VA; aunts, Melissa Fout (Tim) of Romney, WV; Holly Alls of Marion, VA; Sheila Hill of Marion, VA; Ann Kirk of Speedwell, VA; Kay White of Marion, VA; uncles, Ray Greer of Marion, VA; James (Bear) Greer of Fredericksburg, VA; Wade Greer of Marion, VA; and several nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Greer of Marion, VA; maternal grandfather, Billy E. McBride. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at the Church.
