Michael Paul Dennard

Obituary Michael Paul Dennard, born April 8th 1947 in Gallup, NM, passed away peacefully at the SECU Hospice House in Newport, N.C January 14th. Michaels health has been declining for several years. Michaels ex-wife and friends, Nita Parker and husband Tommy Vinston, have been caring for Michael in their Beaufort home prior to his recent admission to the Hospice House. Michael was raised in Fort Sumner NM and Las Cruces NM. As an adult Michael made his way to the east coast and he resided in NC for the last 30 years. Many of those years Michael worked in Healthcare with the NC Department of Corrections at Central Prison in Raleigh where he retired in 2009. He touched the lives of all people he met with his wit, charm, and generous spirit. Michael was a man that left an impression on everyone whose path he crossed. Michael was preceded in death by his parents George Herbert and Dove Dennard, eldest brother Robert Dennard and daughter Rebeca Dennard. Michael leaves daughters Cassandra Gutierrez (Serafin), Traci Carrillo (Andy), Maureen Pitts (Doug Bowley) and Ashley Woodlief (Justin), many grandchildren and a great grandson. He also leaves his younger brother Tim Dennard (Christine) , sister-inlaw, Barbara Dennard and many nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service to celebrate Michaels life is being planned for an undetermined date in April of this year. The details will be shared on a later date. You may contact Tim at gdennard@nc.rr.com.
