Michael 'Wayne' Lewis

M. Wayne Lewis, 66, of Otway, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Carolina East Medical Center. Mr. Lewis was a proud Army Veteran having served six years, including tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (2d Award); National Defense Service Medal; Expert Badge (M-16 Rifle); Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device; Vietnam Service Medal; Expert Badge (M-14 Rifle); Expert Badge (Hand Grenade); and Army Commendation Medal. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Bridgeway Church in Beaufort with Pastors Charles Tyler and Bill Hooper officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diana Lewis of the home; three daughters, Natalie Lewis of Newport; Elizabeth (Jamie) Guthrie of Otway; Jennifer (Doc) Saunders of Atlantic; six grandchildren, Mack; Elijah; Tyler; Arber; Hannah; Madolynn and brother, Ricky (Monica) Lewis of Riverside, CA. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Guion and Victoria (Gillikin) Lewis; and brother, Willie G. Lewis.
